Service out of Love Through the ALS Community: Alvin Bongcaras’ Story

The Lao Foundation (LFI) believes that it is through our collective efforts that we will be able to ultimately achieve our goal of uplifting the lives of those in need. Through collaboration and convergence, our impact is more evident and extensive, especially in communities that need that spark of hope.

In continuing our mission of providing individuals opportunities to change their lives and the community, the Lao Foundation made its way to Dauis, Bohol, the hometown of LFI-Dualtech scholar, Alvin Bongcaras.

Alvin’s story is one of community – of how a shared vision from different influences in his life has shaped who he is and has led him to where he is now. From the ALS Community in Dauis, the Dualtech Training Center Foundation and its partnership with the DepEd Division Office in Bohol, and the support of the Lao Foundation – all of which worked together to provide the guidance and direction Alvin needed in order to believe in himself and hope again.

The Lao Foundation would like to thank Alvin for allowing us to share his story. We hope that it inspires others to believe in themselves, to dream, and to persevere despite the many challenges.

The Lao Foundation would also like to thank the entire ALS Community in Bohol, particularly the DepEd Division Office in Cebu and Bohol, and the Local Government Units in Anda, Antequerra, Dauis, and Loon. Thank you for the hospitality and for sharing the stories in your community. May you all continue to inspire others, especially the youth.

Lastly, the Lao Foundation would like to thank Dualtech Training Center Foundation for their continuous support of our programs – LFI is grateful to have a partner that shares the same vision and passion for helping those in need.

May we all continue to work together in order to inspire more people to follow their dreams.
